IIM Tiruchirappalli inaugurates the 12th batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Business Management

The 12th batch of the Post Graduate Programme in Business Management for working executives of Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli was inaugurated on 19 August, 2023. IIM Tiruchirappalli offers this two-year MBA degree-granting program from its Chennai campus located at Ekkattuthangal. The programme is designed to cater to working executives aspiring to transition into leadership roles. The classes are scheduled over the weekends.

The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Shri. Vikram Gupta – the Head of Logistics at JSW Cement and an alumnus of IIM Tiruchirappalli, Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh – the Director of IIM Tiruchirappalli, Professor Gajanand M. S. – the Chairperson of PGPBM, Professor Gopal V. – the Dean of Academics, and Professor Saravanan P – the Dean of Corporate Relations and Faculty Affairs.

Professor Gopal welcomed the incoming batch and delineated the course’s objectives and expectations. During his address, Professor Gajanand provided an overview of the curriculum and highlighted the diversity, backgrounds, and profiles of the incoming batch. He elucidated the institute’s objectives in delivering a continuous stream of quality education. He motivated the students to cultivate management competency, ethical reasoning, collaborative skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit as they progress through this curriculum.

The Chief Guest, Shri. Vikram Gupta, congratulated the batch and urged the students to instil a sense of social responsibility in the modern VUCA world. He inspired the students to develop a spirit of resilience, adaptability, and determination and be resourceful to navigate the corporate world’s complex landscape. He highlighted that this course would provide an opportunity to achieving excellence through knowledge and learning.

Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director – IIM Tiruchirappalli, addressed the audience and emphasised the need to combine classroom learning with peer learning to gain holistic knowledge for better decision-making. He urged the students to have an ever-widening knowledge base and be willing to spread the light of their wisdom in their surroundings.
