IIM Tiruchirappalli inaugurates the 23rd Annual Meet of IIM Libraries Consortium
Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli inaugurated the 23rd annual meet of the IIM Libraries Consortium on 31st October, 2022. The inaugural ceremony marked the commencement of the 2-day meet which would involve sharing of best practices in IIM libraries and products/services presentations by more than 25 leading publishers and service providers.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, IIM Tiruchirappalli, graced the event and addressed the esteemed gathering. In his speech, he emphasized on the crucial role of a library in an institute in today’s transdisciplinary world. He highlighted the importance of continuously revising and adding resources to the library and acting with financial prudence while doing do. He reiterated the need for all IIMs to join hands and help each other provide the resources required to impart managerial education.
Shri M.K. Singh, Librarian – IIM Lucknow, addressed the gathering and talked about the crucial role that the IIM Libraries Consortium plays in ensuring that the students have all the required resources to gain the intellectual knowledge. He highlighted how the cooperation and coordination facilitated by the consortium makes it possible for all IIMs to access resources which they might not otherwise be able to procure. His address was followed by an introduction to the members of the IIM Libraries Consortium.
Prof. Suresh Paul Antony, Chairperson – Library Committee of IIM Tiruchirappalli delivered the welcome address. He extended a hearty welcome to the librarians from the IIMs all over the country and students. He invited them to share the best practices in their respective IIM libraries so that they could all learn from each other.
The inaugural event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Sivakumar. S, Member, Library Committee.
