IIM Tiruchirappalli Inaugurates the Second Batch of e-GMP

Tiruchirappalli: IIM Trichy inaugurated the Second Batch of the Post Graduate Certificate in Executive General Management Programme (e-GMP) on 18th April 2021. The one-year long programme will be offered in a device-to-device mode in association with our delivery partner, Jaro education. The e-GMP Batch 02 is designed to help working professionals to understand the purpose and key functionalities of the organization, to gauge knowledge of contemporary business topics and cross functional view of an organization, to develop both perspective and managerial skills and to equip with analytical tools, techniques and frameworks required to make cross functional, integrated management decisions.

Prof. Pawan Kumar Singh, Director, IIM Tiruchirappalli, Dr. Satish S Maheswarappa (Chairperson, Executive Education & Consulting), Dr. Saravanan P (Programme Director, e-GMP Batch 02), Dr. Nithyananda K V (Programme Director, e-GMP Batch 02), Dr. Sanjay Salunkhe (Founder, MD, Jaro Education), faculty members of IIM Trichy and 160 students of the e-GMP Batch 02 participated in the inaugural event.

Shri. M. Deepak Row (Group CFO and Chief Strategy Officer, Suguna Holdings.) was the Chief Guest and Shri. Abhinav Kumar Singh (VP & India Lead – Wholesale Client Business, Asset Management at HSBC) was the Guest of Honour.
During his inaugural address, Shri. M. Deepak Row highlighted that opportunities are galore in India, and participants from the programme should keep scouting of such opportunities and benefit from it. He provided them with four mantras to seize the opportunity: (a) get an insight as to what the problem is and solve it; (b) build relationship with people and network with as many people as possible; (c) be ready to take risks in life and career, when you find an opportunity; (d) be very disciplined in executing your work.
Shri. Abhinav Kumar Singh, in his address, shared his corporate journey with the students, while also elaborating on the importance of management education for the participants. He elaborated on the importance of the risk management industry and also his MBA education, along with his CFA and FRM helped him, grow in his career. He also suggested that the participants of the program should network with each other and stay connected, so that they can benefit from this friendship throughout their life.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Singh, while delivering his inaugural address said that this programme would provide the participants the knowledge required to apply in the work. He advised the participants to strive towards attaining clarity in concepts and that they should take the help of faculty members and their batchmates to achieve it. He also shared that IQ (intelligence quotient – clarity of concepts), EQ (emotional quotient – how to deal with people and self), S1Q (social quotient) and S2Q (Spiritual quotient) are important for the overall development of the participant into a holistic person. Dr. Sanjay Salunkhe of Jaro Education advised the participants to network with batchmates as he felt that network is networth. He suggested the participants to focus on all the functional areas as they would all be very important for decision making in a business setting.
