IIM Trichy inaugurates the 3rd batch of Post Graduate Certificate in Executive General Management Programme (e-GMP)
Trichy : Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli inaugurated the third batch of the Post Graduate Certificate in Executive General Management Programme (e-GMP) on 8th January 2022. The e-GMP program is designed for working professionals seeking leadership roles in organizations by providing cross-functional skills to aid their business decision-making process. The incoming batch consists of 166 students with an average work experience of 5 years.
The event was graced by the chief guest, Mr. Pasupuleti Anand, Chief Commercial Officer, Long Products Business and Chief Services and Solutions Business, Tata Steel.
The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries present, followed by a welcome address by Prof. Suresh Paul Antony, Programme Director. He extended a hearty welcome to the program participants for the enriching and challenging journey ahead.
Prof. Prashant Gupta, Chairperson-Executive Education and Consulting (EEC), briefly introduced EEC and the programs offered to the attendees. He stated the importance of maintaining timelines to keep up with the rigor of the program and the need for student engagement to ensure a successful program.
In his address, Dr. Sanjay Salunkhe, Founder, Jaro Education, expressed his appreciation and instilled motivation amongst students. He said that the future belongs to perpetual learners and delved into the need for constant learning, sharing examples from his life. He encouraged students not to take shortcuts and instead believe in a value system. He also emphasized the importance of team work for better career growth in the long run by expanding on the need to share our learnings.
Dr. Godwin Tennyson, Dean (Administration) & Director (Acting), IIM Trichy, spoke about the need to continuously refresh one’s knowledge and learn something new every day. He added that the pandemic is a litmus test for discovering who we are. He highlighted that the program aims to encourage knowledge creation through peer learning.
During his inaugural address, Mr. Anand shared his experiential learnings gathered throughout his professional journey highlighting various aspects, including the value of decision making and knowledge sharing. He shared a few mantras like the importance of discovering one’s mojo and building enduring relationships with our peers to make a difference. He urged students to step out of their comfort zones and tap into opportunities that supplement their existing knowledge.
The inaugural event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Jang Bahadur Singh, Programme Director.
