IIMB to host conference on the Emerging Challenges of Corporate Governance on June 14-15, 2019

Indian Institute of Bangalore’s Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship (CCGC), in collaboration with Florida International University College of Business (FIU Business), USA, will host the 2019 Corporate Governance Conference on June 14th and 15th at its campus. IIM Bangalore and FIU Business are currently accepting papers for the 2019 inaugural conference at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
The conference aims to provide a unique platform where academics, practitioners, corporate executives and regulators can get together to understand the intricacies of corporate governance practices, regulations and their costs and benefits to various stakeholders in India and USA. It will be an opportunity for the stakeholders of global businesses to understand how various economic, cultural and social norms interact to produce an optimal set of governance policies.
The conference will take place over a period of two days. In addition to the research presentations on the first day, there will be panel discussions involving participants from the industry and regulators the next day.
The conference has a pre-eminent line of speakers such as Dr Hasmukh Adhia, Chairman , Bank of Baroda, Gopalakrishnan Narayanan, Chairman, Vijaya Bank, MV Rao, Executive Director, Canara Bank, Sandeep Chaudhary, Former Managing Director, Aon Hewitt, M Sudhir, Executive Partner, Gartner, Deepak Acharya, General Counsel, Wipro, Samir Kumar, Managing Direcor, Inventus Capital, Atul Kumar, Chief Ethics Officer, State Bank of India, Dr Takahiro Nishi, Meiji University, and many prominent researchers and Professors from Florida International University and IIM Bangalore.
The conference is chaired By Professor S Raghunath, Chairperson, Centre For Corporate Governance and Citizenshipat IIM Bangalore and Professor Krishnan Dandapani, Professor of Finance, Florida International University. The Conference Committee consists of Professor Rejie George Pallathitta, from the Strategy area at IIM Bangalore and Professor Arun Upadhyay, Department of Finance, FIU Business.
