“IIMBG INSPIRE Empowers Entrepreneurs through MSME Idea Hackathon 2.0” and Launches Idea Hackathon 3.0
IIMBG INSPIRE, is an incubator registered with MSME under the aegis of the esteemed host institution IIM Bodh Gaya. With a steadfast commitment to the vision of an “Atmanirbhar Bharat” by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, IIMBG INSPIRE has played a pivotal role in facilitating the highly successful MSME Idea Hackathon 2.0 held on October 2nd, 2022. This unique platform encouraged entrepreneurs to think outside the box and discover local solutions to local challenges.
With its unwavering dedication, IIMBG INSPIRE established itself as a driving force behind the entrepreneurial ecosystem, simplifying grant applications, providing a supportive environment, and prioritising the needs of applicants. Twenty startups applied to participate in the MSME Idea Hackathon 2.0 with IIMBG INSPIRE. Following a rigorous evaluation by an expert panel from IIMBG INSPIRE, eight startup ideas were shortlisted for funding opportunities with MSME.
Among them, three startups from IIMBG INSPIRE have been featured in the results list released by the MSME Ministry on June 27th, coinciding with World MSME Day. These three selected ideas will receive funding support of up to Rs. 15 Lakhs per approved idea through the chosen Host Institutes, aiding in nurturing and developing their innovative solutions.
The winning ideas and their founders are as follows:
1. Unmanned Underwater Search and Rescue Vehicle System – under the theme of Disaster Management by Reuben M Shibu.
2. Grow Your Own Mushroom – under the Waste to Wealth creation theme by Piyush Raj.
3. Circular solutions & waste management and Rahat Kendra – under the Low-cost Indigenous Digital Healthcare System theme by Mehdi Imam.

Medhi Imam stated, “With a vision to achieve Universal First Aid Coverage and support from institutions like IIMBG INSPIRE, the prospects of entrepreneurship in tehsil towns have brightened. They led us to the MSME Hackathon, where we eventually won. We are grateful to the entire team of E-Cell, IIM Bodh Gaya, and IIMBG INSPIRE for inspiring young minds in Bihar.”
MSME has launched Idea Hackathon 3.0 between 27th June to 11th July. MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0 fosters innovation and empowers women entrepreneurs, aligning with the vision of a self-reliant India.
