Kozhikode, October 29, 2019: Around 170 Alumni of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), having a treasure trove of experience gathered at their alma mater for the Annual Alumni Meet ‘Nostalgia’ here in Kozhikode. The three-day home-coming-of-sort for the former students of IIMK turned in to a huge occasion for the community including students, alumni and faculty alike.

The alumni association acts as a bridge between the illustrious alumni and their alma mater, giving the current students and the alumni a chance to develop positive synergies and grow together in this process. The event was attended by imminent alumni holding established positions in reputed brands including the likes of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), JP Morgan, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and many more. This included more than 25 alumni from the Consulting domain, more than 15 from the Finance domain, more than 10 from the marketing domain and close to 70 alumni in other domains or entrepreneurial ventures.

A bevy of activities like Quiz, Workshop on effective job search, Functional Interaction, Talent Shows were organised as music and cultural extravaganza reached a crescendo towards the culmination of this Meet, held from 18-20 October 2019. Addressing the vibrant gathering at the fireside chat held during the Annual General Meeting of the Alumni Meet, Director IIMK, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee said, “I have a vision to get extra-ordinary leaders from the alumni and if the alumni wants to support a cause which is about social justice, equity, we as an Institution will back that cause.” He encouraged the members to accept new challenges and to revel in that, while adding, “Great things, leadership doesn’t happen through a precise plan, but one can always create a structure to capture excellence”.

Saya – the Art and Paintings Exhibition by the Students was the other highlight of Nostalgia 2019. The Exhibits captured and displayed the journey of a student in a B-School, with several of them also going under the hammer as the session progressed. Mrs Aditi Chatterjee, wife of Director IIM Kozhikode and herself an accomplished painter, was the Chief Guest for this Exhibition. The Meet also witnessed the alumni pledging themselves to contribute towards social and environmental causes which they reaffirmed with a symbolic gesture of planting a tree in the campus by the alumni.
