IIMK Kochi Campus Executive MBA Programme Breaches 200 Mark; Latest Batch is Largest Ever to be Inducted into the Institute

- Batch Size witnesses 17% jump to a total of 200 participants as compared to 172 students in 2022-2024 (EPGP Kochi 10)
- Participants come with average work experience of 8.5 years and has 24% women candidates.
- Over 73% students from outside Kerala, including 4 international candidates.
Kozhikode : The Induction ceremony for the 11th batch of IIM Kozhikode’s Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in Management, Kochi Campus, for the year 2024 – 2026 for working executives was held at IIM Kozhikode campus today. Dr. Aravind Srinivasan, Chief Medical Officer and Director – Projects, Aravind Eye Care System was the Chief Guest for the induction programme. Director IIM Kozhikode, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, presided over the ceremony with the Deans, Chairpersons, faculty, staff and the newly inducted students in attendance.
The Kochi campus, a brainchild of the current Director Prof. Debashish Chatterjee, was setup in the year 2013 and was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Kerala. The current EPGP 11 batch with 200 participants is the largest executive-MBA batch till date at satellite campus and comes with an average work experience of 8.5 years. The cohort also has 4 international participants (Saudi Arabia – 02, Kuwait -01, Germany -01) this time around and female candidates account for nearly quarter strength (24%) of the batch. To allow participants outside of Kerala, this batch is scheduled to have one weekend cohort in physical mode, and two weekday cohorts in online mode. Over 73 % of the batch comes from 18 states/UTs outside Kerala. IT/ITES (35%), Manufacturing (12%), Healthcare and Education (8%), Banking and Financial Services (7%) sectors/areas which make up for the bulk of this cohort, which also has participants from the government sector, PSUs, Logistics and supply chain and includes Entrepreneurs too.
In his inspiring address to the students and IIMK community members, Dr Arvind Srinivasan shed light on the role society plays in shaping an individual’s character. He urged the latest cohort to nurture and give back to the society and the entire ecosystem. He touched upon various other aspects like – importance of mentorship, developing social intelligence, gaining discipline and the significance of deep observation while executing personal and professional tasks. He encouraged students to go beyond boundaries and to awaken one’s creative mind to think beyond constraints.
Prof. Debashis Chatteree, thanked Dr Srinivasan for gracing the occasion and spoke on the institutional mission of Vision 2047 – Globalizing Indian Thought, driven by the values of authenticity, sustainability and fulfilment. In a free-wheeling interaction with the latest cohort, Prof. Chatterjee also threw light on the importance of connecting work with the “power of purpose” and how “reflective consciousness” is integral for success in the longer run. He expressed confidence that IIMK will play a crucial role in the creation of a new and resurgent India, and urged the participants to be engaged with the larger institutional mission of IIM Kozhikode.
Earlier, Prof. Joshy Joseph, Chairperson – IIMK Kochi Campus Programmes, introduced the guests and the incoming cohort of EPGP Kochi-11. Prof. Kamal Kishore Sharma, delivered the vote of thanks.
