IIMM Delhi Celebrates 25 Years of Excellence with industry-ready Curriculum & Innovative Courses

New Delhi – Celebrating a legacy of 25 years in pioneering media education, the International Institute of Media (IIMM), Delhi, announced a significant transformation in its academic offerings. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP), IIMM has thoroughly refurbished its curriculum for the Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) and Master of Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC) programs to include autonomous courses and cutting-edge modules aimed at enhancing industry readiness.

Curriculum Overhaul Aligned with NEP:

As a part of our commitment to delivering education that meets the evolving demands of the media industry, IIMM has incorporated additional credit courses into our BJMC and MJMC programs. This restructuring aligns with the guidelines of the NEP, emphasizing flexibility, creativity, and critical thinking in our students’ learning journey. The revised curriculum empowers students to take charge of their educational paths through a variety of elective courses and interdisciplinary approaches.

Introduction of Autonomous Courses and Industry-Relevant Modules:

The revamped curriculum introduces autonomous courses that allow students to tailor their education according to their career goals and interests. These courses are designed to offer a broad spectrum of knowledge while providing in-depth expertise in specific areas of media and journalism.

In addition to the core subjects, IIMM has launched new modules that include Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data/digital tools in media. Recognizing the transformative impact of AI on the industry, these modules equip students with the skills to leverage AI technologies in content creation, data analysis, and audience engagement, preparing them to be at the forefront of the media landscape.

Highlights of our Curriculum:

Additional Credit Courses: Customizable learning experiences with a range of elective subjects.

Autonomous Learning: Enhanced academic freedom to explore diverse media fields.

AI Integration: Specialized modules focusing on AI applications in media and journalism.

Industry Preparedness: Emphasis on practical skills and real-world applications to ensure students get instant and relevant internships and placements

Ms. Pooja Priyamvada, Director Academics, Collaborations & outreach has expressed excitement about the curriculum overhaul, stating, “As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are proud to pioneer educational innovation that keeps pace with the dynamic media industry. Our new curriculum not only aligns with the NEP but also anticipates the future of media with an emphasis on AI and technological proficiency. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of media professionals who are not only knowledgeable but also adaptable and forward-thinking.”
