IIT Bhubaneswar placements looks promising amidst the pandemic
Bhubaneswar: Amidst doubts expressed all around about the effect of placements for students during placement season 2020-21, the placements now being handed out at IIT Bhubaneswar are showing a rising trend this year. So far 32 % students have been placed in a matter of few days. IIT Bhubaneswar sees a very good start of placement season 2020-21 with 88 offers with reputed companies ranging from Code Nation Innovation Labs, Analog Devices, Amazon, Dream 11, Adloid, Rupeek, JLR, Caterpillar, Persistent, Mathworks, Optum (UHG), Oil India Limited etc., taking part in the drive.
Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar says the premier institute has seen a surge in placements this year with the offers received already surpassing last year’s total offers as on date. Offers as high as 45 Lakhs Per Annum CTC have already been made to seven B Tech students of Electrical Sciences. Majority of the recruiters are IT & core industries and are wide ranging indicating a growing trend this year. Better placements over the last year indicates an optimistic placement scenario despite fears about the pandemic situation affecting the business economy throughout the globe. At IIT Bhubaneswar we have been emphasizing high educational standards in general including use of innovative methods applied in live streaming of classes and in performance assessment through pen and paper examinations, online during the pandemic and the companies would find very competent professionals in our students.
The final year students are all geared up with full enthusiasm for the ongoing placement season at IIT Bhubaneswar via online mode owing to the Covid-19 restrictions. The shift of the campus placements to the virtual mode will be the trend making it more safe and convenient and is sure to be promising, despite of the ecosystem facing economic crisis, he further added.
