IIT Bhubaneswar to organize Cleanliness Drive ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta’ under Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 3.0
Bhubaneswar : Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar is taking part in the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 3.0. As part of its commitment towards a clean and garbage-free India, the Institute will organize a cleanliness drive in and around Podapada Primary School, Jatni, and Argul Melan Ground in the adopted villages, on 1st October 2023. This cleanliness drive will be carried out in line with the ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta’ Cleanliness Drive launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
Under the aegis of Ministry of Education, Government of India, this Cleanliness Drive by IIT Bhubaneswar will be coordinated and conducted by the members of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) and Horticulture Department of the Institute. The members of the Institute, including the students and employees and the local people, will participate in this drive and clean the school, Argul Melan Ground, and the surrounding areas. The students, employees of the Institute and the local people will also take the Swachhata Pledge on this occasion.
This is a Swachhata campaign for all citizens to give a spark to keep the villages, cities and surroundings clean through Jan Bhagidari (Public Participation). It may be mentioned that the Swachhata Hi Seva Special Campaign 3.0 aims at making the citizens to continue the practice of cleanliness a habit and be a part of this Jan Andolan.
