IIT Gandhinagar celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’ with virtual performances

Gandhinagar: Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’ today to mark the significance of the language. Due to the current pandemic situation, the event was arranged in online mode this year. IITGN community members, including students, faculty, staff, and their family members, joined virtually to participate in the celebration.

The virtual event witnessed enthusiastic performances by the participants, who recited Hindi poems, presented songs on various topics, and expressed their thoughts on the language. The topics ranged from the undying spirit of life to Coronavirus global pandemic, luck, childhood, experience, struggles of the middle class, mother, and the state of Hindi in the country. Earlier, a message from Hon’ble Education Minister, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, on ‘Hindi Diwas’ was read out to all.

On today’s occasion, the Institute’s Hindi Cell has also started virtual classes of spoken Hindi to help the community members learn basic Hindi for their colloquial needs.
