IIT Gandhinagar to host Indo-UK Virtual Conference on the 5 C’s of Water Vulnerability from December 14 to 16
Gandhinagar: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is going to host “Indo-UK Virtual Conference on the 5C’s of Water Vulnerability: Climate Change, Contaminants, Co-occurrence, Conflicts, and COVID-19” from December 14 to 16, 2020, from 4:30 to 8:30 PM (IST). The conference is being co-organised by IITGN’s discipline of Earth Sciences, Dr Kiran C Patel Centre for Sustainable Development (KPCSD), the UK-India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI), Newcastle University, British Council, and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Dr Rakesh Kumar, Director, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), will deliver the inaugural talk on “Climate Linked Resilient Cities Development Planning” on December 14, 2020, from 4:30 to 5:30 PM (IST). Dr Rakesh Kumar has contributed significantly in the field of environmental science and engineering with his efforts focused on the application of science and technology for sustainable development.
The web conference, which is part of an Indo-UK Joint project, aims to bring together leading academicians, scientists, researchers, and practitioners from India and abroad to share their experiences and research outcomes on various aspects of water quality in the aquatic environment. The event is expected to act as a premier interdisciplinary platform to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, concerns, practical challenges, and solutions adopted in the fields of wastewater, surface water, and groundwater.
