IIT Hyderabad and MLR Institute of Technology to Collaborate on Research and Teaching

 

Hyderabad: Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and MLR Institute of Technology (MLRIT) are going to collaborate on Teaching and Research Activities. The two institutes recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)on this collaboration. It was signed by Dr. Sumohana Channappayya, Dean (Research and Development), IIT Hyderabad, and Dr K Srinivas Rao, Principal, MLRIT, and Dr Karthik Rajendra Dean Research & Development, MLRIT.

IIT Hyderabad and MLRIT will collaborate in the development of Teaching, Training and Research activities. One academic Co-ordinator from each of the organizations shall be nominated for each activity to facilitate proper exchange of academies of the proposed activity.

Speaking about the collaboration, Dr. Sumohana Channappayya said, “The MoU will seek to promote mutual intellectual growth and collaborative research of original technological solutions through faculty development programs, guest lectures, and conferences.”

Dr. K. Srinivas Rao, Principal, MLRIT, said, “We hope the MoU would help in achieving excellence and high-quality standards in the Institute’s Research and Academic programs of engineering. Signing a MoU with a premier institution like IITH is an important milestone for us.”

“We expect this strong collaboration to produce accelerated outcomes that benefit both our institutions”, said Dr. Karthik Rajendra Dean (Research & Development), MLRIT.

The objective of this MOU is to stimulate and facilitate the development of collaborative and mutually beneficial programs which serve for technical upliftment of both campuses. It endeavours to

Ø To promote and enhance academic interaction between IIT Hyderabad and MLRIT,

Ø To share and implement best practices for enhancing quality of teaching learning and research processes.,

Ø To conduct faculty development programs for the benefit of teachers of MLRIT institution,

Ø To provide technical support for the research scholars, faculty members and students to carry out the research work,

Ø To undertake collaborative R&D work/R&D Projects,

Ø To do joint publications arising out of collaborative work, and

Ø Facilitating combined project Investigators/ Co-investigators for various both National and International projects
