Speaking of this year’s placement season, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Yemula, Faculty-in-Charge for Placements, IIT Hyderabad, said, “Placements at IIT Hyderabad, like any other institute activity, are led by students. A team of dynamic student placement coordinators has been working since April 2017, preparing for placements which will culminate in the final hiring process beginning on 3rd of December 2017. The faculty, staff, and administration are facilitators for the entire process. This year we look forward to breaking our own previous records and build a stronger brand for the Institute among the recruiters. The credit for this ultimately goes to the students who are doing exceedingly well in all areas of academics”.
Some of the prominent companies coming to IIT Hyderabad include Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), international companies such as Yahoo Japan and SMS DataTech. The companies visiting the Institute also include Microsoft Corporation, Goldman Sachs, the telecommunications equipment firm Qualcomm and the global investment management firm D. E. Shaw & Co. Each company has registered around three job profiles. Around four startups have also registered for placements.
