IIT Jammu Hosts Students from High School Mera Mandrian Akhnoor

The Department of Continuing Education & Outreach, in collaboration with UBA [Unnat Bharat Abhiyan] at IIT Jammu, recently hosted 146 students and 20 escorts from High School Mera Mandrian. The students, accompanied by the Outreach and UBA team, including Ms Jeyoti Kaul, Mr Subash Langeh, and Ms Priyanka, were divided into four groups.

During the visit, the groups explored various facilities, including the Central Workshop, Biology Lab, Carpentry & Welding Workshop, and Physics Lab. The dedicated lab faculty and staff provided insightful demonstrations, elucidating the significance of equipment in the labs. Students actively engaged by posing questions, receiving patient responses from the staff.

Post the visit, Dr Riya Bhowmik led an interactive session on the importance and career opportunities in STEM and STEAM fields. Mr Ranjeet Raj, a 3rd-year B.Tech. student at IIT Jammu, shared his academic journey, aiming to inspire the visiting students. Ms Jeyoti Kaul further interacted with the students, providing insights into the academic and overall environment of the institute.
