IIT-M incubated Startup GUVI & AICTE’s ‘AI-for-India’ Initiative Attracts over 2.80 lakh people, targets 10 lakh

 

Chennai: The ‘AI-for-India’ Initiative launched by IIT Madras-incubated startup GUVI and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to upskill Indians in coding has already attracted over 2.80 lakh participants interested in learning Python and Artificial Intelligence.

A one-day online coding event, it is being conducted by GUVI in association with AICTE, IIT Madras Research Park, with more partners now roped in. It is targeted towards students, IT professionals, and anyone in the age group of 8 to 80 years interested in coding.

This online event has already commenced registrations and can be done on https://www.guvi.in/AI-for-India

GUVI welcomes all aspiring Indians to utilize this online opportunity to acquire AI skills and boost the participation to 10 lakh people, which will drive it towards a Guinness World Record for the maximum number of participants in an online event.

Expressing the support to this initiative from IIT Madras Research Park, Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Institute Professor, IIT Madras, and Chairman of SEBI’s Technical Advisory Committee, said, “GUVI is a remarkable Ed-tech company that is taking up a very unique initiative – ‘AI-for-India’ – where they will train 10 lakh students by teaching them Python and upskill them with AI skills. The ‘AI-for-India’ is definitely an innovative program ignited by GUVI with extensive support from AICTE, NEAT and IIT Madras Research Park.”

Participants can choose their time slot and learn to build a face recognition app using Python from industry experts. A Free Python course will be unlocked by GUVI to all the participants for learning the foundational concepts of Python programming language.

In addition, Participation Certification will be awarded for the learners who take part in this Guinness World record initiative. Also, unlimited access to a Coding skill-building platform called ‘CodeKata’, will be offered to all those who registered to ‘AI-for-India’.

This initiative, being taken up in memory of GUVI’s Co-founder Ms. Sridevi Arun Prakash, is part of the startup’s mission to provide training in Artificial Intelligence to One Million Indians and make India the leader in the Artificial Intelligence field.

GUVI has now roped in more partners for this grand online coding event. The new collaborators include GitHub, a technological partner and industry partner ‘BUDDI.AI’, a leading platform that leverages Artificial Intelligence for better automation solutions in the healthcare industry.
