IIT Madras Incubated Edtech Start-up GUVI reaches milestone of 5 Lakh Learners through its e-learning platform

Chennai: IIT Madras-incubated startup GUVI has reached a major milestone of reaching Five Lakh Engineering students through its e-learning platform, which is unique among its peers as it is focused on vernacular languages and reaching students in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India. This is a major milestone in the e-learning industry, which has seen an exponential increase in use during the COVID-19 lockdown.

In another milestone, the courses offered by GUVI are going to be incorporated into National Education Alliance for Technology (NEAT), a Public-Private Partnership model between Government of India and Education Technology companies. It is implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

GUVI is scheduled to sign the MoU tomorrow (16th February 2021) with Shri. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, at New Delhi in the presence of Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Prof. M. P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE, Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE, and Shri. Buddha Chandrasekhar, CCO, NEAT, AICTE, among others.

GUVI has a presence in over 1,200 engineering colleges across India and has been upskilling learners with its Coding Practice and Assessment platform, IIT certified courses and specialized courses taught by prominent industry Mentors and professors from IIT Madras. Remembering the dream mission of Co-Founder, Mrs. Sridevi Arunprakash – Team GUVI is moving forward intensely to bestow tech-coding skills and create 10 million programmers in India to drive the growth of Indian IT Sector.

Speaking about the future goals of the startup and new initiatives being planned, Mr. S.P. The GUVI Recruitment team works to arrange, prepare and deliver interview opportunities for the students with product companies that align with their career goals. They work to attract experienced professionals from other domains such as business (sales and marketing), arts, teaching and lecturers to becoming Full Stack developers.

Balamurugan, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, GUVI, went to Mumbai to meet 5,00,000th learner – Mr. Vivek Sinha, an Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) Student from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Tamil Nadu. Mr. Balamurugan also shared career-buildings gifts with Mr. Vivek Sinha who is now ‘privileged learner’ and discussed how the GUVI platform can be best utilized to reach career goals in programming world.

Mr. Vivek Sinha was elated as he was offered unlimited free access to all the premium courses of GUVI with all the pedagogical programming tools – CodeKata, WebKata & MicroArc & a lifetime mentorship for his programming job placement.
