IIT Mandi Achieves #8 Rank in ‘Innovation’ Category in NIRF 2024

MANDI : The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has secured the 8th position in the Innovation category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of India, announced the results of the ninth edition of the NIRF India Rankings today, 12th August 2024, in New Delhi.

In addition to its success in the Innovation category, the Institute has also made notable progress in other areas. IIT Mandi has improved its rankings to #31 in the Engineering category and #72 in the Overall category this year.

 

While addressing the gathering, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said, “The Ministry of Education has continuously incorporated feedback from HEIs to make the ranking process more progressive and transparent. We are committed to further enhancing this mechanism to ensure greater transparency and fairness. I urge all public and private sector institutions to actively participate in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, as this will not only help them benchmark their performance but also drive continuous improvement and excellence in the higher education sector.”

The ninth edition of NIRF includes rankings across various categories such as overall, university, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, and architecture. This year, three new categories have been introduced: open universities, skill universities, and state-funded government universities.
