IIT Mandi joins hands with WileyNXT to train professionals for Post-Covid Digital Transformation
New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi), India’s prestigious engineering and technology university and Technical Innovation Hub (TIH) collaborated with WileyNXT, Wiley’s innovative learning solution for emerging technologies, and launched two new executive courses – PG Certification in Applied AI and PG Certification in Fullstack Development. Both these programs are designed for early career professionals keen on gaining premium credentials to build a career in AI and Analytics. On the successful completion of the course, the participants will get joint certification from WileyNXT and IIT Mandi.
Through the TIH, IIT Mandi is utilizing its faculty strengths, industry collaborations, and ongoing projects to mark India as a leader in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) research in the world. TIH operates under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS).
The joint program on Applied AI is designed to create a skilled base of artificial intelligence professionals for a wide variety of Industry applications like Healthcare, Supply Chain, Intelligent Cybersecurity amongst others. According to industry reports, the Indian Artificial Intelligence market is valued at $6.4 Bn as of July – August 2020. This will lead to an increase in demand of a new breed of talent and offer myriad opportunities for professionals who want to pursue a career in AI research and development.
Full-stack developer is one the most in demand career in the IT industry. Job portals are abuzz with positions requiring this skill. Full-stack is becoming the default way to develop as a response to the coronavirus pandemic, while most businesses migrate to a digital model. There has been a 20% rise in the demand for full-stack developers, with companies keen to have multi-talented professionals with front-end and back-end expertise on board.

The 6 month online programs will facilitate simulated learning through a unique learning methodology designed to enable learners to contextualize technology skills with deep business awareness as well as a problem solving mindset. The contextual or application focused skills are developed by integrating case studies, skilling problems, virtual labs, simulations, capstone projects, immersions at the campus and masterclasses by Wiley India Advisory council consisting of top industry experts and business technology drivers in India and across the globe.
