IIT Roorkee to celebrate Diamond Jubilee of its Annual Technical Exhibition “SRISHTI 2019”

Roorkee: The Student Technical Council at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee are going to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of its Annual Technical Exhibition ‘SRISHTI 2019’ to be held on March 9th & 10th within its premises.

SRISHTI came into existence in 1958 and since then it has inspired the brilliant minds of the institute to come up with creative ideas and practical innovations. It is one of its technical ventures cum annual exhibition that fosters the techno caliber of the students and creates a dynamic platform for the interaction of the various technical domains on which technocrats are working. It provides a platform for students to showcase their projects in this annual exhibition.

The Chief Guest at Srishti 2019 this year will be the Asia Pacific Head of TCS , Mr. Sanjay Peshin and the Guest of honor will be ASME India President Mr. Madhukar Sharma. They both will flag the ceremony by lighting the lamps and cutting the ribbon. Besides the exhibition the institute students also plan to do the product launch of Ark Aggarbattis which is the result of floral waste management project by Enactus IITR. After the intensive R&D Ark aggarbattis are now ready to be launched in the market.

Prof. Ajit K Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee said ““Since its inception in 1958, Srishti has inspired the students of our institute to come up with creative ideas and practical innovations. Different sections of the students’ technical council work earnestly to implement concepts picked up in the classrooms and showcase their accomplishments””

With more than 20 technical groups and proposing 100+ projects Srishti promises a distinct experience to witness projects from diverse fields, including 3D Printing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. In addition it would also promote Business and Social Entrepreneurship skills. Srishti’19 promises many exciting on the spot contests, exhibitions and online competitions for the spectators to get motivated and inspired. Several companies like Maruti, BHEL, JBM etc. have already sent their consent to become a part of the exhibition.

Also for the first time spectators will have an opportunity to witness a project from DIC ( Design Innovation Centre) named नवो_मेष, that is one of the 20 DIC’s being set up in the country by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
