IIT-Roorkee organized 2-Day “Advanced Embedded Intelligence” Technology Workshop by Samsung
Roorkee: Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, under the guidance of Dean of Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy (SRIC) and Dr. Durga Toshniwal, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, organized a two-day workshop by Samsung Research Institute Bangalore (SRIB) entitled, ‘Advanced Embedded Intelligence’ on 13th-14th October 2017.
The one of a kind workshop was open for B. Tech, M. Tech and PhD students across all Departments of the Institute where in the Samsung team built upon the technical concepts from basics for the participants.
The workshop was kicked off by Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee followed by technical talks by several senior experts from Samsung such as Mr. Balaji Srinivas Holur, Senior Vice President, SRIB, Mr. Vanraj Vala, Senior Principal Engineer, SRIB and Mr. Anurag Jain, Senior Principal Engineer, SRIB. Lectures by Samsung experts were on the state-of-the-art on many different upcoming and presently hot research areas like – Machine Learning & Advances in Deep Learning, Embedded Intelligence, Android Anatomy, Embedded Programming to Heterogeneous Computing, 5G Primer and other subjects.
Students from 17 different Departments and Centers of the Institute including Biotechnology, Civil, Computer Science, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication., Earthquake, Mechanical Metallurgy and Materials, Mathematics, Physics, Geophysics Engineering along with Center for Transportation Engineering and Center of Nanotechnology participated in the workshop. The students also got an opportunity to interact on a one-to-one basis with Samsung experts during the Workshop.
The closing session was held on Oct 14 presided by Associate Dean SRIC Prof Manish Shrikande and the vote of thanks was proposed by ADCI, Prof. Pravindra Kumar.
