IKGPTU Inter-College Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Best Physique tournament held at CGC Landran

The IKGPTU Inter-College Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Best Physique tournament successfully concluded today at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran. Aimed at reinforcing the spirit of sportsmanship, while highlighting the importance of fitness of mind and the body, the three-day event saw enthusiastic participation from several colleges including Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) Ludhiana, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSBEC) Fatehgarh Sahib, Doaba Institute of Engineering & Technology (DIET), SAS Nagar, IKGPTU Jalandhar, CGC Jhanjeri, Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering & Technology (SVIET) Banur, and CT Institute of Hospitality Management, Jalandhar (CTIHM) Jalandhar, among others. The tournament was graced by the presence of Shri KDS Nagra and Shri Kamaldeep Singh as IKGPTU Observers among a host of other dignitaries. CEC-CGC Landran clinched the first position in Weightlifting competition with 39 points while the second prize was secured by CGC-COE, Landran with 13 points followed by IKGPTU Jalandhar winning the third position with eight points. The Powerlifting competition on day two witnessed CEC-CGC Landran bagging the first position with 29 points with CGC Jhanjeri taking the second position with 11 points. In the Best Physique Competition hosted on the third day of the competition, CGC Jhanjeri bagged the first position with 20 points. The second and third positions were won by LKCTC Jalandhar (13 points) and CEC-CGC Landran (11 points), respectively. Simranjit Singh, from CGC Landran was bestowed with the title of Mr. IKGPTU. All the winners were felicitated with medals and trophies recognising their hard work, dedication and achievement.
