ILR School’s March 13 Konvitz Lecture features Rwandan leader
Freddy Mutanguha will deliver the ILR School’s annual Konvitz Lecture, “Thirty Years Out of Genocide: Lessons on Conflict Resolution and Peace Building in Rwanda,” at 4:30 p.m. March 13 in 105 Ives Hall.
The public is invited to attend in person or online.
Now the CEO of the Aegis Trust and director of the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Mutanguha works to prevent genocide and mass atrocities through peace and humanity education, and advocates for forgiveness as an element of post-conflict reconstruction.
He lectures internationally on the genocide against the Tutsi. A million people were killed in a 100-day period in 1994. Mutanguha was 18 when his parents and four of his five sisters died.
The Konvitz Lecture, honoring the legacy of Professor Milton Konvitz, is made possible through the generosity of Irwin Jacobs, BEE ’56, and Joan Jacobs, HE ’54.
