IMIT teachers are experts of the city conference “The Future of Petrozavodsk”

The XXVI city conference of young researchers “The Future of Petrozavodsk” was held in Petrozavodsk.
In 2021, 186 students of grades 8-11 became participants in the main stage, 106 works were presented at a public defense from 1 to 5 February at 20 sections of the conference. The purpose of the conference is the intellectual development of students taking part in research activities.

The organizers of the conference are the Department of Education of the Social Development Committee of the Administration of the Petrozavodsk City District and the MAU DPO “Center for Education Development” with the participation of general educational organizations of the Petrozavodsk City District.

Experts in the section “Mathematics” and in two sections “Informatics” were the teachers of the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching Mathematics and ICT in Education of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies: T.V. Bezhanu, S.A. Zonova, G.N. Kagacheva, V.V. Kyurshunova, S.I. Markova, E.V. Filimonov. Based on the results of the expert assessment, a number of works were selected for public protection, in which the teachers of the department took part as members of the jury.

The defense of the research papers that became the winners of the extramural stage took place on the Zoom platform. The topics presented at the conference were distinguished by their relevance and diversity – these were the mathematics of music, and the study of the resolvability of the SET card game, and the use of cloud technologies, and the creation of a single-layer perceptron, and the development of a Telegram bot for learning English.

The young participants demonstrated good skills in search and research activities, the ability to lead a discussion and argue their point of view, confident knowledge of ICT tools. The jury members highly appreciated the reports of the speakers. Based on the results of the work of the sections, the winners of the city conference of young researchers “The Future of Petrozavodsk” were determined.
