Imperial College Business School launches Online Masters in Business Analytics

Imperial College Business School is set to run its first Online Masters in Business Analytics programme from October 2018.

Modelled on Imperial’s existing offline MSc in business analytics, the MSc Business Analytics (online delivery, part-time) programme has been built specifically to cater to business professionals around the world who wish to develop their capabilities in data analytics, programming and machine learning.

The programme will be delivered through The Hub, Imperial’s purpose-built online learning environment developed from the ground up by the School’s award winning Ed Tech lab.

The Hub provides students with an interactive, engaging, and flexible learning environment which is accessible on any device, at any time. It is simple to use and provides convenient access to all programme materials, connects students to peers and tutors, and tracks their progress throughout.

Programme Director Kalyan Talluri says the programme will help international managers to build their careers in an increasingly data-driven world:

“This programme is designed to bridge a rapidly emerging skills gap in business professionals and middle managers. Such professionals might know programming very well, they may have graduated during the tech boom of the new millennium. But now our industries face the ‘data boom’, which is an entirely different beast.

“Participants can undertake this programme around their work-schedule – allowing them to build their career skills whilst staying employed, while employers will not have to face the problem of losing their best talent. It also solves the problem of potential students who had previously considered geography to be a barrier to high quality business education.”

Commenting on the programme’s benefits to employers, Javier Anta, Partner and Managing Director at The Boston Consulting Group, who sits on the programme’s advisory board, says:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals, as the impact of advanced analytics and AI on businesses is set to grow even bigger in the coming years and those businesses will need people with the right capabilities to deliver it.”

The programme is set to commence on 8 October 2018, and run on a part-time basis over the course of 22 months. Applications are currently open. Further details can be found on the School’s website.
