Implementation of PM Awas Yojana (U) reviewed in Rajouri; DC asks sponsors, Banks to maintain close coordination

 

RAJOURI : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan chaired a meeting of the concerned officers here the other day to review the progress on the houses being constructed under PM Awas Yojna(U) in the urban areas of the district and also to resolve the issue of lack of coordination between sponsoring and financing agencies.

The meeting was attended by the CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; LDM, Jyoti Prakash Sharma; EO Municipal Council and Municipalities and Branch Managers.

The DDC said that PMAY-U is an ambitious scheme of the Government, which intends to provide housing for all urban dwellers by the year 2022.

“On one side we talk of the development of all sections of the society but on the other side, the lack of interdepartmental coordination between the sponsoring and financing agencies in this scheme creates a hindrance in the developmental process”, DC said while chairing a meeting to review the status of cases sponsored by the Departments.

The meeting was informed that 141 cases of the BLC beneficiaries under PMAY-U have been sponsored by the JK Housing Board and are pending at different branches of the J&K Bank for financing. The DC asked the Bank Authorities to make sure that all the sponsored cases are sanctioned in seven days.

He asked the concerned officers to work together in a mission mode for the successful implementation of the scheme on the ground level and ensure that the benefit of the scheme is provided to the last beneficiary.

About the progress on the houses constructed under PMAY-U in the district, the meeting was informed that a target of constructing 1530 houses has been set and work is on.

The DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned officers about the status of geo-tagging, houses attached with MIS, payment made to date, who in turn briefed about the same.

He asked the concerned officers to ensure that all the PMAY-U houses are geotagged and are attached with MIS. He also directed to ensure the timely payment of PMAY-U installments to the beneficiaries so that the people don’t suffer.

The DDC also directed the concerned officers to ensure that quality material is used for the construction purpose and also the target is achieved within the shortest possible time.
