Importance of knowledge sharing cannot be overlooked: Prof Mohd Faizul Bin Mohd Sabri

New Delhi: Prof Mohd Faizul Bin Mohd Sabri, President, Malaysian Thermoelectric Society, yesterday said, “Knowledge sharing is important not only among the students but also at faculty level to strengthen research collaborations across the boundaries.”

Speaking at the three-day International Workshop on ‘Energy Technology and Sensor Systems’, organized by FICCI, jointly with the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Kancheepuram, University of Malaya and Malaysian Thermoelectric Society (MTeS), Prof Sabri further emphasized on intensifying India, ASEAN member states collaborative research in S&T and innovation.

Prof Dr Saad Mekhilef, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, said, “A larger number of Malaysian students are getting benefitted through the exchange programs than any other ASEAN countries.” He expressed confidence over increased research collaborations in more research fields.

Prof Banshidhar Majhi, Director, IIITDM Kancheepuram, said, “The research partnerships occurring between UM and IIITDM through FICCI has inspired the researchers to overcome the challenges posed by the present pandemic situation.”

Dr Mohd Faiz Mohd Salleh, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UM, said, “These platforms provide a boost to the research collaborations amongst Indian and ASEAN institutes/universities.”

The workshop had 400 active participants from more than 10 countries. The interactive workshop expanded over 3 days, consisting of 12 lectures with the eminent speakers for university Malaya, UniversitiTun Hussein Onn Malaysia, IIITDM Kancheepuram, and National Institute of Technology Trichy, India.
