IMS Ghaziabad Organized 30th Annual Book Exhibition & Spicmacay Performance by Renowned Bharatanatyam Artist Ms. Ragini Chandrashekhar

Ghaziabad: IMS Ghaziabad organized SPICMACAY Bharatanatyam performance by the globally renowned artist Ms. Ragini Chandrashekhar under the leadership of Director, Dr. Urvashi Makkar in a two day international conference on 15-16 April 2022. The Cultural Extravaganza “Reaching The Roots” was graced by the august presence of Chief Guest, Shri Pramod Agarwal, Executive Council Member, IMS Society; Presidential Speaker, Shri Rakesh Charria, General secretary, IMS Society; Distinguished Guests, Smt. Sunita Agarwal, Smt. Deepa Chharia and Ms. Abha Bansal.

Addressing an audience of over 300 eminent personalities from Administration, Academia, Corporate and Media, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad quoted that “ Indian Classical Dance & Music is one of the most expressive forms of art, and it is imperative for the students to experience the rich Indian cultural heritage” and further shared that SPICMACAY is a revolution of Indian classical performing arts, intended to enrich the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage. Coordinated by Dr. Laxmi Pandey, the soulful evening was instrumental in inspiring the young minds with the rich Indian culture and values. Simultaneously “30th Annual Book Exhibition” was organized under the mentorship of Director, Dr. Urvashi Makkar which witnessed an exhibition of books from over 20 renowned publication houses like Wiley, Pearson, Sage, Oxford, Taxmann, Penguin and many more on diverse subjects..

The exhibition was conceptualized by the Library team of the institute in order to strengthen the reading habits in the budding professionals. In her Inaugural Address, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, IMS Ghaziabad quoted that “reading is very important as a means for activating the mind and enhancing the creative ability”. She inspired the young minds to make good books as their companions for life in order to improve their perspectives towards life. Coordinated by Dr. Amit Bhati, the unique event was instrumental in enriching the robust library of the institute and stimulated in the visitors an interest for reading.
