IMS Ghaziabad Organized FDP on “Outcome Based Education (OBE)”

Ghaziabad: In line with its numerous endeavors for promoting academic excellence, IMS Ghaziabad, under the vision of Director, Dr. Urvashi Makkar organized a Faculty Development Programme on “Outcome Based Education (OBE)” on May 30-31, 2022.

The Expert Resource Speaker for the session was Dr. J.R. Sharma, Managing Director, Stemvogel Consulting (OPC) Pvt. Ltd and Mentor, IMS Ghaziabad. In her Inaugural Address, Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director, IMS Ghaziabad, expressed her regards to Dr. Jeet Sharma for his guidance and mentoring in enabling the institute to successfully navigate through the rigors of the prestigious NBA Accreditation of the PGDM Program.

She highlighted to the delegates that IMS Ghaziabad is amongst very few B-Schools of the country, who have got uninterrupted NBA accreditation since 2005. Welcoming Dr. Vikram Bali, Director, IMS Engineering College and the faculty delegates from different institutions, she emphasized that the rich deliberations shared by the expert resource person will generate new reflections on not just Outcome Based Education but also on the basic purpose of being in the noble profession of Academics which carries with it tremendous responsibility, integrity and passion.

Using many examples from diverse domains, Dr. Jeet explained vital aspects of how the faculty should plan, execute and improve a course; arrive at the COs using Bloom’s Taxonomy and practice it as a tool to the ongoing examination reforms. He illustrated the crucial aspect of breaking down the COs into performance indicators and competencies to the inquisitive participants.

The reflections shared by him enabled the faculty to initiate more experimentation in their classroom delivery.  Coordinated by Dr. Radhika Malhotra, Dr. Parul Yadav and Ms. Satakshi Agarwal, the pertinent FDP was instrumental in enabling the delegates to practice dynamism in their teaching learning pedagogy for improved outcomes for various stakeholders.
