IMS Unison University Concludes Annual Sports Meet ‘Sportathalon’ with Felicitation of Winners
Dehradun : The three-day annual sports meet, ‘Sportathalon 2024,’ organized by IMS Unison University culminated with a ceremony honoring the winners for their exceptional athleticism, sportsmanship, and unity displayed throughout the event. The triumphs achieved during ‘Sportathalon 2024’ underscored the institution’s commitment to fostering holistic growth, encompassing not only academic excellence but also physical fitness and collaborative spirit.
Dr. Anil Subbarao Paila, Vice Chancellor of IMS Unison University, presided as the Chief Guest during the valedictory program, where he personally bestowed medals, trophies, and certificates upon the outstanding players across various sports categories. Acknowledging the meticulous planning and dedication of the organizing team, the Vice Chancellor lauded their vision, creativity, and hard work, emphasizing the positive impact of such initiatives on the university’s overall ethos and student development.
The valedictory session also included the presence of the Pro-Vice Chancellor of IMS Unison University, Dr. Ravikesh Srivastava. In his address, Dr. Srivastava commended the students for their remarkable performances and extended gratitude to the participating schools for their steadfast support and encouragement.
The valedictory session’s cardinal attraction was around the announcement of the best player of the year, President’s medal, and the Vice-Chancellor’s trophy. The Sportathlon 2024 felicitated its Best player of the year award to Rahil Sajwan from the School of Management; while the prestigious President’s medal went to the highest scorer, the School of Law for its overall achievements across various events of the annual sports. The School of Management became the proud bagger of the Vice-Chancellor’s trophy as the runner-up school of Sporathlon 2024.
The atmosphere of the culminating day got wobbled with the University’s own Band and the phenomenal performance by the students. The exuberant celebration was eventually wrapped with the Vote of thanks by the Dean of Students Welfare, Prof. Vinay Rana who bestowed the success of the entire Sportathlon 2024 to the hardworking students, faculty members, and other staffs under the umbrella of IMS Unison family.
The annual sports of IMS Unison University’2024, thus, served as a platform for students, faculty, and staff from various schools within the university to come together and celebrate the essence of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The event featured a diverse array of sports, including athletics, football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, among others. The Registrar, Deans of Schools and other university functionaries also graced the occasion with their presence and motivated the students.
