Clearly, the number of offers that have been made and the kind of roles that have been offered is proof enough that there is no dearth of opportunities for those who possess the right skills. The need of the hour is for professionals to take stock of their career and upskill themselves.”

Michele Sereno, Head Human Resources, VakilSearch said, “We are constantly looking to evolve the technology space at VakilSearch to line with our mission “Legal is now Simple”, it was indeed exciting to be part of an event that specifically focused on professionals who have upskilled in MI & AI. As otherwise, it is tough to come by such professionals through regular recruitment methods. We interviewed very talented professionals at GL Excelerate and have on-the-spot offered 3 candidates. We intend to continue to participate in further editions of GL Excelerate.”

Ms. Rashmi Poovaiah, Partner at TheMathCompany, said “Great Learning’s Career Fair – GL Excelerate, gave us the opportunity to come across highly skilled data scientists in large numbers. We look forward to a continued relationship with GL Excelerate and hope we can join hands for a yet another season of the career fair soon!”

According to a report by Great Learning, close to 97,000 positions related to analytics and data science are currently vacant due to dearth of qualified talent, an increase of 45 % over 2018. At the same time, the threat of job losses has been looming large over professionals in sectors like IT, Telecom and Auto with these industries redefining their focus on requisite skills. The need of the hour is for professionals to upskill in areas like data science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing and make themselves relevant for current market opportunities.
