Inauguration of NIELIT Extension Centre in Bikaner Tomorrow by Union Minister of State for Law & Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, and Culture, Arjun Ram Meghwal

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Extension Centre at Bikaner, Rajasthan will be inaugurated on 21st February, 2024 at Govt. Dungar College, Bikaner by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State(I/C) for Law & Justice and Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture. The Prime Minister’s vision of promoting digital skilling and technological advancement will be strengthened with the inauguration of NIELIT Extension Centre Bikaner.

A diverse range of courses in Emerging technologies like AI & ML, Cyber Security,  Cloud Computing, Big data, Social Mobile, IoT/Industry 4.0, RPA and 3D printing, AR/VR, Meta verse, etc., NIELIT O Level, A level courses, as well as opportunities for summer trainings/internships and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) will be offered from this center.

The NIELIT Extension Centre Bikaner is being established at following two prominent locations in the city under project with funding support from Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt of India with a total budget outlay of  Rs. 7.05 crore.

  1. Govt. Dungar College, Bikaner: This location encompasses the first floor of the college, spanning approximately 3240 square feet. It comprises three computer labs with a total capacity of 62 students and a 35-seater classroom.

Innovation Centre, Maharaja Ganga Singh (MGS) University, Bikaner: The center will also operate from the Innovation Center, Building of Maharaja Ganga Singh (MGS) University, Bikaner covering an area of approximately 2360 sq. ft. Here, six classrooms accommodating total of 120 students and two computer labs catering to 100 students will facilitate advanced learning experiences.

National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), is an autonomous Scientific Society of MeitY and is engaged in skill development and capacity building of human resources in the area of IECT through its wide array of degree/diploma programmes viz. B. Tech/M. Tech,  MCA , BCA, PG Diploma in Information Security/Cloud Computing/Data Science/IoT etc, and skilled based long term/short terms certificate programmes in emerging technologies to equip the students with the necessary knowledge of the key industry practices and skills to be fruitfully employed besides providing exposure to live projects and hands-on practical training.

The NIELIT is having 50 own centers and a wide network of 700+ Accredited Training Partners and 9000+ facilitation centers across the nation.  It is also one of the National Examination Body, which accredits institutes/organizations for conducting courses in IT & Electronics in the non-formal sector. With the inauguration of the NIELIT Extension Centre at Bikaner, total number of NIELIT Centres and Extension Centres will reach 51 across India. Presently in state of Rajasthan NIELIT is having its Centre at Kekri district where it is offering B.Tech (Computer Science)  course along with training in various skill based programmes in emerging technologies in IT & Electronics.
