Income Tax & Central GST department organises ‘Mulaqaat’ outreach programme at Kulgam

 

KULGAM: Income Tax Department in collaboration with the District Administration, Kulgam on Wednesday organised an outreach programme, titled ‘Mulaqaat’ with the stakeholders, Contractors, Shopkeepers and youth of Kulgam district with regard to Income Tax and Central GST.

The Mulaqaat was held under the chairmanship of Central Joint Commissioner GST and other officers from the Income Tax Department.

President and members of Traders Association, Contractors, Shopkeepers and other stakeholders attended the meeting.

The outreach programme and interactive sessions was held with various stakeholders including small and medium businessmen, young professionals, start-ups and youth to listen to their grievances, complaints, suggestions etc. raised so far in this regard and understand the difficulties being faced by the public in respect of direct and indirect Taxes and to assist them in solving the problems along with motivating the youth to pay taxes.

The aim is also to find out the expectations and suggestions of the people from the forthcoming Union Budget and to make the public aware about the technological advancements made by the new taxation regime to increase transparency and ease of compliance and to provide better service to taxpayers, the visiting officers informed.

On the occasion, the traders, contractors and youth also put forth their valuable suggestions which were patiently heard and taken into consideration for their early solution.

ADDC Kulgam Riyaz Ahmad Sofi, Tehsildar Headquarter and other officers were also present in the Mulaqaat.
