Increasing attention to subject rankings is a recurrent global trend in university rankings.

The RAEX rating agency for the first time published a series of subject ratings – 10 lists of leading universities in various areas of training. Ural Federal University is represented in seven rankings: construction and architecture (8th place), mathematics (9th place), physics and astronomy (10th place), engineering and technology (10th place), mechanical engineering and robotics ( 9th place), medicine and healthcare (9th place), information technology (11th place).

“The successful advancement of the university in such important subject areas is an eloquent confirmation that the university is developing in the right direction,” notes the rector of UrFU Victor Koksharov. – When choosing a university, many applicants increasingly focus on such indicators. The University is dynamically developing interaction with industrial partners, international organizations, the number of foreign students is growing, our scientists are achieving serious results both in Russia and on a global scale. We continuously improve the quality of educational services and strive to provide our enterprises with truly bright, promising and competitive graduates. All this allows the university to comprehensively develop the industrial, economic and social potential of the region. “

The position in the subject rankings was influenced by three factors – the level of applicants, scientific publications, and also the assessments of universities in the course of reputation surveys.

“Increasing attention to subject rankings is a current global trend in university rankings,” commented Dmitry Grishankov, General Director of RAEX rating agency (RAEX-Analytics). – We hope that the compiled lists of leading universities in specific areas will be in high demand by applicants and their parents. Our line of ratings by areas of study is a powerful tool for making decisions about choosing a university. “
