INC’s School Outreach Program

 

Aligarh : The Interdisciplinary Nanotechnology Centre (INC) at Aligarh Muslim University organized a School Outreach Program on September 30, marking India’s G20 Presidency, with a resounding impact. The initiative sought to ignite young minds with the wonders of nanotechnology.

More than 20 students from institutions such as ABK High School (Girls), AMU Girls School, STS High School, Sayyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Al-Barkaat Public School, Iqra Public School, and Blackdale Public School participated in this educational extravaganza.

Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba Siddiqui ( Department of Geography, AMU), the Chief Guest and Joint Secretary of ABES, delivered an enlightening address that left an indelible mark on the students, imparting valuable life lessons and a profound sense of inspiration.

Professor Absar Ahmad, the visionary founder and director of INC, captivated the audience with his enthralling discourse on the essence of nanotechnology and its captivating real-world applications.

The meticulously organized School Outreach Program, under the supervision of Dr. Mohd. Azhar Aziz, Director of INC, concluded with vote of encouragement to all participants, urging them to embark on their educational journeys with passion and dedication.

The event boasted an array of interactive activities, including live nanotechnology demonstrations featuring models, posters, experiments, an immersive tour of INC’s cutting-edge research equipment, and a high-spirited quiz competition.

Kaseed Anwar, Dr. Swaleha Naseem, and Dr. Syed Afzal Ahmad masterfully hosted the quiz competition, where Muqtasid Ahmad Khan (Sayyid Hamid Senior Secondary School) emerged as the winner, with Faizan Ul Haque (S.T.S. School) as the runner-up.

The students themselves had the distinct honor of adjudicating the best model and poster. The “Targeted Drug Delivery” model presented by Km. Suzain, Zainab Zahid, Bushra Fatima, and Shahrukh Hussain (M. Tech. Nanotechnology first semester) earned the coveted Best Model award, while Altaf (M. Tech. Nanotechnology third semester) received the prestigious Best Poster award.
