Independence Day: SLSA holds Online Talk Show, Patriotic Symphony with senior citizens
Jammu: Under the guidance of Chief Justice Jammu and Kashmir High Court and Patron-in-Chief J&K State Legal Services Authority, Gita Mittal and under the supervision of Executive Chairman, J&K SLSA, Justice Rajesh Bindal, J&K SLSA in association with J&K Judicial Academy organized an Online Talk Session on the topic “ Performance of Fundamental Duties: A Quintessential Element of Freedom” besides hosting a “ Patriotic Symphony with Senior citizens” to mark celebration of 74th Independence Day.
A documentary prepared by Haryana State Legal Services Authority was also showcased on the occasion.
Retainer Advocate, Shahdara Legal Services Authority, Ishanki Gupta, delivered a talk session on the concept of Fundamental Duties and their importance in our lives. She underlined the concept of fostering a sense of respect for our National Flag and other Constitutional Institutions.
The Patriotic symphony with Senior Citizens was organized with members of Ahata-e-Waqar centres of various districts and other senior citizens wherein a lively literary and cultural event was organized.
Sita Ram Sapolia, a renowned Hindi and Dogri writer and recipient of Sahitya Academy Award shared his poetic composition while Tsewang Dorjay, Member Ahata-e-Waqar, Leh recited a poem. Muneer Ahmad Meer, an approved (Grade A) singer from Radio Kashmir Jammu mesmerized the audience with his soulful rendition of patriotic song while Kewal Krishan Wadera, a renowned Environmentalist and a social activist and member of Ahata-e-Waqar Jammu sang a gazal. Rubina Mir, a renowned poetess from Rajouri recited her creative work from her book “ Ainae Khayal”. Yash Pal Sharma, member of Ahata-e-Waqar Jammu also sang a song on the occasion. Parvez Maanous, a renowned multilingual writer and poet and recipient of many State and National awards also contributed to the literary and cultural event.
The participants included Senior citizens, Para Legal Volunteers, Judicial Officers, Retainer Advocates and other prominent citizens.
Meanwhile, Independence Day was also observed by District Legal Services Authorities of all the districts of Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as well through PLV’s by organizing various activities.
