India has rich heritage in science, technology and innovation: Governor Smt Anandiben Patel

Bhopal : India has a rich heritage in science, technology and innovation. The country is once again poised to become jagatguru. More than 100 courses including various study schools, electronics, forensics, food technology, horticulture and fisheries are being started along with establishment of Indian Knowledge Science, Education and Research Centre at Vikram University from the forthcoming session. Governer expected that this innovative effort will bring significant achievement in the history of the university by extending cooperation in the development of the region, state and nation. Smt. Anandiben Patel said this at the 24th convocation of Vikram University today.

At the convocation ceremony, the Chancellor governor Smt. Anandiben Patel distributed Ph.D. degree for the year 2018-19 to 325 students, degree of undergraduate year 2018-19 and post graduate year 2018-19 degree and medal. Minister for Higher Education Dr. Mohan Yadav, MP Shri Anil Firozia, Chairman, Ugc, Prof. D.P. Singh, MLA Shri Paras Jain, Vice Chancellor Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Registrant Dr Uday Narayan Shukla, University Working Council member Shri Rajesh Singh Kushwaha, Shri Sachin Dave, Sushri Mamta Bendwal and Dr. Vinod Yadav, head of the departments, students and professors were present.

The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohan Yadav said that we have got the opportunity to accept a new education policy. The new National Education Policy is the first education policy of the 21st century, which aims to meet the essential needs for the development of our country. The education policy has based India’s great ancient tradition and its cultural values. The policy has been particularly emphasized in the development of infinite creative capabilities inherent in each individual. The Department of Higher Education is playing its role in the implementation of this policy with all sincerity and concentration.

Chairman, University Grant commission Prof. D.P. Singh said that the youth is helmsmen of the nation They have a hidden zeal, passion the dreams of the future in the eyes, the hope of a beautiful tomorrow, the sky to touch. Youth establish the nation’s special identity all over the world with their contribution as administrators, teachers, scientists, musicians, literators, doctors, engineers and artists. Proper guidance is needed to nurture the eternal creativity and immense curiosity of the new generation.

Vice Chancellor of Vikram University Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey in his welcome address said that Vikram University was established in 1957 with the objective of re-distinguishing the knowledge splendour of Avantika. From the year of inception to the present, the University is constantly on the move to achieve its objective. At present, the jurisdiction of the university is spread over seven districts of Ujjain division with a total of 188 colleges and 14 research centres. At present, 31 study centres are being run by the university. He said that for special achievements in today’s convocation ceremony, graduate and postgraduate level students of the year 2018 and 2019 have been awarded gold medals, research degrees to scholars and graduate and postgraduate degrees. The convocation ceremony was conducted and thanked by registrar Dr. Uday Narayan Shukla.
