All India Kalidas Samaroh from October 31 to 06 November
Bhopal: Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge) Shri Surendra Patwa chaired Central Committee’s meeting as regard to All India Kalidas Samaroh -2017 held at Tribal Museum, Shyamla Hills Bhopal. The Kalidas Samaroh will be organized from October to November 6 this year. Minister for Energy Shri Paras Jain will also grace the occasion.
Besides decision/compliance report of Kalidas Samaroh -2016, the committee while giving approval for actual expenditure has decided to organize the Samaroh at grand level this year. Principal Secretary Culture Shri Manoj Shrivastava presented outline of the samaroh. He informed that Mangal Kalash Yatra and Naandi Karyakram will be held on October 30 a day before the samaroh. Kalash Yatra will be taken from Kshipra Ghat of Ujjain to Kalidas Academy campus. The local public representatives, members of local and central committee, prominent citizens of the city, students, cultural team besides other teams connected with the Kalidas literature will participate in this yatra. Bhakti Sangeet will be held in Naandi Karyakram.
It is to be highlighted that All India Kalidas Samaroh is organized by Vikram University and Kalidas Sanskrit Academy under the aegis of Culture department every year.
MoS Shri Surndra Patwa released publication of Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akadmi ‘Sahityik Gazetteer Jila Jabalpur’ and Antarrashtriya Vichar Mahakumbh Digest on the occasion. MLA Ujjain (South) Dr. Mohan Yadav, Commissioner Ujjain Shri B. M. Ojha and other members of the central committee were present in the meeting.
Daily Programmes to be Held during 7 Day Long Samaroh
The samaroh will be inaugurated with traditional fervor on first day i.e. October 31. Kalidas Sanskrit play will be showcased on the same day. Dance–drama based on Shastra-Dharmi style and inspired by traditional style will be held on November 01. Similarly, Hindi play based on traditional Sanskrit literature will be showcased on November 02. Programme on folk /traditional style on November 03 and recital of Shastra-Dharmi style on November 04 besides classical dance presentation on November 05 will be held. The samaroh will be concluded on November 06 with recital in classical style.
National Kalidas Photo and Sculpture Exhibition
National Kalidas Photo and Sculpture exhibition focusing one of the books of Kalidas is organized since 1958, the beginning of Kalidas Samaroh. Artists from all over the country make paintings in traditional and folk style. These artworks are displayed in the exhibition and awards are given to 5 selected paintings. Artworks on the subject of exhibition ‘Raghuvansham’ have been invited this year.
