India should create more job creators than Job Seekers: Prof B S Murthy – Director, IIT Hyderabad
He spoke at 13th Graduation Ceremony of NMIT
Bangalore: An industry-ready 2023 batch of 1224 students belonging to UG, PG and MBA programs graduated from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) at its 13th Annual Convocation on Saturday.
Held at the NMIT Yelahanka Campus in Bangalore, the graduating students have drawn hiring interests from leading companies. Over 150+ Top recruiters have participated in the recruitment drive initiated by NMIT, which has strong industry connections. The institute achieved a commendable placement record with an overall placement of 93%. The highest salary offered was Rs. 41 lakhs from Adobe and the average salary was Rs. 6.6 lakhs. The students received exciting offers from Industry leaders like TESCO, Rapido, Phonepe, IBM, HSBC, HDFC Bank, Byjus, TCS, Accenture, KPMG, Capgemini, L & T, PWC, Cognizant, Jio, Siemens, and Toyota Kirloskar.
Dr H C Nagaraj, Principal, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology welcomed the gathering and congratulated all the students for their outstanding performance in academics. Addressing the students he said, “As our graduating students move forward, I encourage each one of you to carry with you the values instilled by NMIT – a commitment to lifelong learning, a spirit of innovation, and a sense of responsibility towards society. Remember that education is a continuous journey, and the skills you have acquired here will serve as a strong foundation for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead”
During the ceremony, Chief Guest, Prof B.S Murthy, Director, IIT-Hyderabad, addressed the gathering. He said, “The Education landscape of the world is changing rapidly with an evolving technical transformation. India as an aspiring country has created abundant opportunities in the nook and corners of the nation. India is investing 75000 crores in semiconductors, 8000 crores in quantum and transforming as a new country. The youths should contribute for the nation to emerge as a Global leader. To achieve this we must set a goal in our lives and find a way with confidence in ourselves. We need to constantly upskill and reskill to be able survive in the ever changing environment.”
The institute conferred 13 Gold medals (UG: 7 Gold Medals and PG: 6 Gold Medals) to the toppers who marked their academic performance.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities like Prof. N.R. Shetty, former Chancellor, Central University of Karnataka, Kalaburgi, Dr Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President- Technical Education, Nitte University. Dr K D Nayak, Prof. L M Patnaik and Prof Pundarika represented the Governing Council of NMIT. Dr Kanchan Garg, Controller of examination Dr H C Nagaraj, Principal, Prof. V Sridhar, Dean Academics, Dr Rohit Punja, Administrator, Dr Sandeep Shastri, Director- Academics etc were present in the ceremony. The graduating batch included 960 students from Undergraduate programs and a total of 264 students from Postgraduate and MBA programs.
