IISc is a public research university for higher education in engineering, science, management, and design. This university is located in Bengaluru. This institute was established in 1909. - Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
JNU is a major public research university, and it is located in New Delhi. This university was established in 1969 and is known for leading faculties such as social studies, applied sciences, etc. They have also incorporated a new faculty called scientific socialism. The Indian School of International Studies was also merged with this university in June 1970.
- Jamia Millia Islamia.
This National Islamic University is located in New Delhi, India, and it was initially established at Aligarh during the British Raj in 1920. University Grants Commission gave this university the deemed status in the year 1962. It became a central university in the year 1988.
In the year 2020, Jamia Millia Islamia became the 1st ranked university among all the central universities in the entire country. The university also received an ‘A++’ ranking in December 2021. The University Grants Commission gave this university a deemed status in 1962.
- Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
This public state university is in Jadavpur, Kolkata, West Bengal. In 2022, it was ranked fourth among all the universities in India. It also achieved 12th rank overall in NIRF 2022. It presently operates in two campuses, one in Jadavpur and another in Salt Lake.
- Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore.
This privately deemed university has seven campuses and 16 constituent schools across Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. This university offers a total of 207 postgraduate, undergraduate and integrated-degree programs. It was started in 1996 and offered an AACSB accredited two-year MBA degree.
- Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
It is a central research university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in the year 1916. There are over 30,000 students in this university and 18,000 students residing on campus. It is the largest residential university in the entire continent. This university is declared the Institute of Eminence by the Government of India. This university is also known as the Hindu University.
- Manipal Academy of Higher education, Manipal.
It is a private deemed university which is located in India, and it also has campuses in Bangalore, Mangalore and Jamshedpur in India. Manipal offers more than 350 programs and it has across 30 disciplines. It ranks 7th among the Indian universities. The university has been divided into the MIT campus and the health sciences campus. It also has a very large library, a museum and an indoor sports complex.
- Calcutta University.
The University of Calcutta is considered one of the best state research universities all over India and it has 151 affiliated undergraduate colleges. It is the oldest multidisciplinary style institution and it was established on 24 January 1857. This university was awarded the status of Centre with the Potential for Excellence in Particular area. The major specialty of this university is that it has the highest number of students who have cleared the National Eligibility Test.
- Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.
VIT is a private researched university which was founded in the year 1984. It offers around 66 undergraduate programs, 15 integrated research programs and 58 postgraduate programs. VIT entered the domain of school education in 2022. This university admits bachelors through its own entrance exam. This exam is conducted every year in the month of April and May. This university was ranked 9th nationally by QS World University Rankings in 2022.
- University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad.
It is a top ranking public research university which is located in Hyderabad, Telangana. It was founded in the year 1974 and it has a residential campus which has more than 5,000 students and 400 faculty from different types of disciplines. In January 2015, this university received the Visitor’s aware for the Best Central University in India.
