India will become a model of “clean energy” in the world

New DelPrime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said that India will become a model of “Clean Energy” in the world. India has created the “International Solar Alliance” to promote solar energy. Our effort is to ensure that the common man generates his own electricity at home. The government will help him in this work. We are attempting to make better solar panels, batteries, storage in the country so that we do not have to import equipment from abroad. Excellent work is being done in the field of solar energy in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh is becoming a hub of low cost and clean electricity. Rewa has really made history today. Rewa, known for the White Tiger, will now also be known for its Solar Plant in the world. Thousands of panels installed in the fields looks like crops blooming in the fields or the blue water of the deep sea. For this remarkable work, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the entire team including the people of the area deserve to be congratulated.

Important achievements of the project

Rewa Solar Project is the first such solar project from which the power received from it is cheaper than the power received from thermal energy.

For the first time this project provided electricity to any commercial institution ‘Delhi Metro’ outside the state through open access.

It is the first project in the country to get World Bank and CTF loan for internal grid coordination, which has got World Bank loan without guarantee of state government. The loan has been approved under ‘CLEAN TECHNOLGY FUND’, which is a LIBOR free loan obtained at a cheap rate of 0.25 percent.

The project is preventing CO2 emissions of 15.7 lakh tonnes annually, which is equivalent to planting 2. 6 crore trees. The project has received the World Bank President Award for Transaction Infrastructure.

Three-tier Payment Security Mechanism system was implemented for the first time in India through this project.

The developers of the three units of the project, Mahindra Renewables, Acme Solar Holdings and Arinsun Clean Energy, respectively – were selected on the basis of bidding tariffs of Rs 2.979, Rs 2.970 and Rs 2.974 for the first year. This year the project was also nominated for the Prime Minister’s Award for achieving the lowest tariff.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that remarkable works are being done in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Along with effective control of Corona, Madhya Pradesh has created a record in wheat production. Now Madhya Pradesh will also make a record in solar power generation. The government is planning such a scheme, through which farmers will now be able to produce electricity by putting solar panels on their barren and unusable land. He will be able to supply electricity to others as well as fulfill his own requirements. Our food giver farmer will now also be able to become energy givers.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Project on Friday through video conferencing from Delhi. On this occasion Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel from Lucknow, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Bhopal, Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Shri Thawarchand Gehlot, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Shri Prahlad Patel, Shri R.K. Singh, Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste from Delhi and MPs, MLAs and public representatives from Rewa were present.

Delhi’s metro will run from Rewa

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that not only is Madhya Pradesh getting electricity from the Rewa Solar Project but it is a matter of joy that the project is providing 24 percent of its power to Delhi Metro also. Delhi’s metro will run from Rewa.

The Sun is the source of sure, pure, and secure energy

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that Surya Upasana has a special place in our country. The Sun makes us pure, it is also a source of renewable energy for us. The Sun gives us sure, pure and secure energy. Its energy is ‘sure’ that is forever, ‘pure’ means safe and pure for the environment and ‘secure’ means can meet our energy needs forever.

India’s cheap solar energy is a topic of global discussion

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that we have reached the top 5 countries in the world in the field of solar energy. India has proved that solar energy is beneficial both in terms of economy and environment. In the year 2014, where solar energy cost was Rs 7 to 8 per unit, today it has come down from Rs 2.25 to 2.50 per unit. Generating cheap electricity through the Rewa Solar Plant is a major achievement. Self-sufficiency of solar electricity is essential for Atmanirbhar Bharat.

We are committed towards clean energy

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that we are committed to clean energy. We have to protect the environment and also make life easier. We have already provided LPG, CNG based vehicle system in every house, now efforts are being made to arrange electricity based transport. About 600 billion units of electricity have been saved in the country through 36 crore LED bulbs in the previous years. Our aim is to provide affordable electricity to every person and to keep the atmosphere and water pure.

Effective measures for Corona control in Madhya Pradesh

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken effective measures to control Corona in Madhya Pradesh. He said that with a few efforts, we can easily defeat the dreaded disease like Corona by wearing masks, maintaining two yards distance, washing hands with soap for 20 seconds and not spitting everywhere. Rules must be adhered to and there should be no lack of discipline.

Inspired by the Prime Minister, Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Prime Minister Shri Modi is a “Man of Ideas” and inspired by him and his vision, Madhya Pradesh is progressing in every field. When Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he knew that solar energy is the future energy and had started effective work in this field. For this, we created a new department in Madhya Pradesh in the year 2010. Asia’s largest solar unit was launched in Neemuch by Prime Minister Shri Modi. The work of Rewa Solar Plant was started in the year 2017 inspired by the Prime Minister in the presence of Energy Minister Shri R.K. Singh. “I heartily welcome and greet the Prime Minister on behalf of 7.5 crore people of the state.”

Rewa Solar Plant set many records

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Rewa Solar Plant has set many new records. It is a “game changer” project in the field of solar energy. Cheap electricity of just Rs 2.97 per unit, providing electricity to commercial institutions outside the state for the first time, availing loans from the World Bank without guarantee at the lowest rate of interest, saving carbon emissions equal to 2 crore 60 lakh trees, etc. makes this project unique.
