India@75 Youth Ideathon enters into its final rounds featuring 100 of India’s most innovative and entrepreneurial minds in schools

New Delhi : India@75 Youth Ideathon, a three-stage festive competition of innovative entrepreneurship ideas by school students organised by ThinkStartup in association Management Entrepreneurship Professional Skills Council (MEPSC), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Bajaj Allianz Life entered its final stages, where they’ll be featuring some of India’s brightest young entrepreneurial minds. The three-stage competition was tabulated with the vision of inculcating the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst school students through the power of ideas which can transform the nation.

More than 62K students across 5000 schools registered for the Youth Ideathon with over 9k registrations during the final day of the preliminary round. As part of the Youth Ideathon, more than 850 school webinars were organised pan India. These webinars alone catered to about 200000 students from pan India. As part of the initiative Teachers training programs were also organised, which was attended by over 5000 teachers pan Indian. The Teacher Training Programs were organised to with a vision to help teachers in imparting entrepreneurial teachings that would aid in development of a new generation of young entrepreneurial minds.

The Second round featured 500 of India’s brightest young minds. In this round the children were requested to go through a video interview phase where they were evaluated by 50 leading Indian entrepreneurs. Following the interview phase, top 100 finalists of India@75 Youth Ideathon were selected & their details have been published today.

The final stage of the Ideathon will commence from 6th of November, 2021 and will last for a span of 8 days. The final stage will feature key notes from some of the biggest names from the education & entrepreneurial world including the likes of Prof. Jaideep Prabhu, Professor of Innovation at Cambridge University, Prof. Jeanne Lietdka, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, India Director, Harvard University, Mr. Rustom Kerawala of Ampersand Group, Mr. Alok Mittal Founder of India Angel Network, Mr. Vinay Bansal, Founder of IPV Fund. The final stage will also include sessions from Unicorn Entrepreneurs as they would share their piece of expertise & insights on how to develop the right entrepreneurial attitude & mind-set.

According to Sanjeeva Shivesh, Co-Founder, ThinkStartup & Programme Director, Youth Ideathon, We believe that the time for Youth Ideathon has come. It shall be transformative for India and therefore, the thrust in Youth Ideathon is “Mera idea jo badal de Bharat”.

 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also recognised the Youth Ideathon. Some of India’s leading organisation’s including the likes of Macmillan Education, Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), sheatwork and Renewables, Law Sikho, Skills Trainer, CISS, IIM Visakhapatnam, Care and Allied Services, Olive Heritage and Ginger Webs partnered for the Youth Ideathon.

The Winner of India@75 – Youth Ideathon will be awarded Rs. 1 Lakh; 1st Runner Up of India@75 – Youth Ideathon will receive Rs. 60,000 and the 2nd Runner Up of India@75 – Youth Ideathon will be given Rs. 40,000. There will be a special award of Rs. 25000 for the best idea by a female student to be sponsored by sheatwork. Besides these, there will be 700 more awards in the form of Top 10 Ideas Certificate + 3 Month Mentoring; Top 100 Ideas Certificate + Young Ideator; Top 500 Rank Certificates; Most Popular Idea award (Rs. 10,000); Best Idea from each State (Rs.10,000). Participating schools can win Certificates of Appreciation and Ideas Innovation Trophies.

There are also individual certificates and cash prizes of Rs 25,000 each alongwith mentoring for the Best Green Idea, Best Automation and Robotics Idea, Best Finance Idea, Best Health and Fitness Idea, Best Entertainment and Gaming Idea, Best Education Idea, Best Rural Development Idea, Best Space Tech Idea, Best Social Idea and Best Consumer Product Idea.
