Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) host a virtual orientation programme for new batch of 2021

New Delhi : IIAD welcomed a new batch 2021 of design students in their respective programmes. With the COVID pandemic that has gripped the world, IIAD embraced this ‘new normal’ by hosting its orientation event virtually this year. Students and their parents were introduced to the IIAD Community and were made familiar with the resources and facilities at the institute, the rules and regulations, and the calendar of academic events.

Mr.Jay Dutta was the honourable chief guest who is the Senior Vice President & Head of User Experience (UX) at Goibibo and MakeMyTrip Group and the Founder/Curator of DesignUp. He is a Design thinker, doer, evangelist, and speaker.

Dr. Jitin Chadha ,Founder &Director IIAD said ,the outgoing batch of IIAD has shown some tremendous results with online learning and bagged some great placements, even in the turbulent year of this pandemic. After a year of pivoting to this online learning environment, we feel much more confident for the coming batch. Having said that, we’re hoping that the situation settles soon and we can welcome the students back on campus soon.”

IIAD will start this new batch of 2021 online, among the many pandemic restrictions. The institution has had one successful batch complete its foundation year (first year) in college via the online medium of learning. With premium subscriptions like Adobe Creative Cloud, Linkedin Learning, Microsoft Teams made available to all students and teachers, they are one of the most well-equipped establishments for an online teaching model.

The new batch was also addressed by Prof. Usha Nehru Patel, Dean Academics; Simrat Joshi, Head of Operations and some members of the faculty, namely Kanika Arora (Lecturer) and Madhu Pandit (Associate Professor) from the Interior Architecture and Design department. There were some fun activities and games for the students and other attendees; and also a film introducing the staff and faculty
