Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Hosts MILAP 2024: Strengthening Academia-Industry Relations for Capacity Building and Human Resource Development
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), an autonomous institute under the Department of Commerce of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, successfully organized MILAP 2024, an Academia-Industry Connect event aimed at fostering stronger ties between academia and industry. The event, held at the esteemed premises of IIFT Delhi, witnessed active participation from 25 countries’ embassies, 21 Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and 19 private sector companies.
MILAP 2024 served as a platform for exploring capacity building and human resource development perspectives, crucial for fostering sustainable growth and innovation in today’s dynamic economic landscape. The event kicked off with a high-level round table conference, bringing together embassy officials from various nations to engage in discussions centered around capacity building and human resource enhancement initiatives.
The highlight of the event was the Medal Distribution Ceremony, held at the historic Conference Hall of IIFT Delhi, honoring outstanding achievers from diverse certificate programs conducted during the financial year 2023-24. The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Asheesh Pandey, Professor of Finance and Head of the Management Development Program Division at IIFT Delhi.
Maj. General S B K Singh, Director General of Resettlement (DGR), graced the occasion with a special address, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts between academia and industry in nurturing talent and fostering professional development.
Ms. Anjali Singh, Chief General Manager-Human Resource at Indian Oil Corporation, delivered the keynote address, shedding light on the critical role of human capital in driving organizational success and industry growth.
The ceremony culminated with a vote of thanks extended by Dr. Vijaya Katti, Senior Professor at IIFT Delhi, expressing gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and stakeholders for their unwavering support and commitment to advancing the cause of capacity building and human resource development.
During the ceremony, 29 distinguished individuals were honored with medals in recognition of their exemplary performance and contributions to various certificate programs, underscoring IIFT’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering excellence in education and professional development.
