Indian Oil DGM speaks on new concepts, trends in communication
Aligarh : Sumita Singh, DGM Corporate Communication of Indian Oil Corporation and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) alumnus discussed the future of media, the new concepts and trends for communication.
She was addressing students of the Department of Mass Communication at AMU in a special lecture and tree plantation programme.
“Digital technologies are going to dominate the future of all media and it is imperative that the aspirants must develop skills in consonance with that”, said Sumita.
Discussing corporate communication and its challenges, she spoke about the evolution and prospects of working as a communication specialist and touched upon issues of crisis management and corporate social responsibility.
Sumita pressed for the need to adapt newer technologies to match the ever-growing demands of the market.
“Only those who are agile and capable of taking the pulse of the public will be able to survive the cut-throat competition”, she stressed.
Sumita encouraged the students to explore the field of digital and social media communication as it is going to be the mainstay in times to come.
She also engaged in an interacted session and answered queries of students.
In the welcome address, Prof Pitabas Pradhan (Chairman, Department of Mass Communication) talked about Sumita’s remarkable career in Corporate Communication.

After the lecture, Sumita joined faculty members Prof Afrina Rizvi, Dr G K Sahu and Mohd Anas to plant tree saplings in the department premises and nearby areas.
