Informative talk on ‘Importance of Proper Nutrition’ at NSS AMU

Aligarh : Prof Athar Ansari, Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) delineated the importance of healthy eating habits and motivated the students, faculty and staff for a healthy life.

He was delivering an informative talk on ‘Importance of Proper Nutrition for all specially Children in their Growing Years’ in the ‘Poshan Mah’ (Nutrition Month) observations of the National Service Scheme (NSS), AMU on September 7.

Prof Athar discussed the role of a healthy diet in the human body, and how a balanced diet packed with essential nutrients helps in healthy development and function.

“Good nutrition is important for everybody, especially children. Childhood is a crucial period for physical growth and cognitive development. Optimal nutrition and regular physical activity are associated with better health, self-esteem, and academic achievements”, he said.

Dr Arshad Husain (Programme Coordinator, NSS) delivered the welcome address and Dr Saifullah Khan (Programme Officer, NSS) conducted the event.
