The main goal of the project “Initiatives for Rural Museums of Karelia: Gridino” is to promote the development of rural museums in Karelia through the implementation of a set of measures to systematize the museum fund, expand and popularize activities on the example of the museum of the village of Gridino.
Within the framework of the project, an expedition is planned to the old Pomor village of Gridino in the summer of 2021 to work with the funds of the local museum; competition for schoolchildren aged 11-18 who are interested in traditional culture and history of Karelia; a round table dedicated to the development of museums in rural areas.
In preparation for the expedition, a seminar for its participants was held in the Humanitarian Innovation Park of PetrSU.
At the seminar, the authors of the project talked about its goals and objectives, as well as about the experience of cataloging museum funds in the village of Khaikolya (Kalevala district) and the village of Nyukhcha (Belomorsky district), the process of describing and attributing exhibits.
The work in these museums is carried out by the staff and student volunteers of the Research Laboratory of Local and Microhistory of Karelia PetrSU (ILLMIK) Head – Irina Aleksandrovna Chernyakova, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences.
