Innovative Tundish Design Patent Granted

Aligarh : Mohd. Muzammil Zubair, who is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Qatar University, and Dr. Syed Mohd Yahya, an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at AMU, have achieved a notable milestone with the granting of their patent titled “A Design of Tundish for Improved Inclusion Floatation.” This innovative design, which originated during Zubair’s M.Tech studies at ZHCET in collaboration with Dr. Yahya, shows great potential to revolutionize processes in the steelmaking industry by enhancing inclusion floatation.

This patent endured a thorough four-year examination by the patent office, reflecting resilience, determination, and a commitment to excellence. His innovative approach underscores the importance of perseverance and collaboration in driving technological advancement.

In his congratulatory statement, Professor Mohammad Muzammil, the Chairman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, emphasized that the successful granting of Zubair’s patent, achieved through collaboration with Dr. Yahya during his M.Tech tenure, showcases their expertise and commitment and this achievement paves the way for future breakthroughs and advancements in steel production processes.
