The Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences of PetrSU continues an international interdisciplinary project implemented jointly with the Institute of Political Sciences of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the Karl Eberhard University (Tübingen, Germany) with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) within the Ost-West program -Dialog 2021.
The project manager for UNICSOC – UNIVERSITIES, CIVIL SOCIETY, PUBLIC WELLBEING AND CRISIS is Dr. R. Frankenberger (Institute of Political Science, University of Tübingen). Project coordinator from the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences of PetrSU – Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign History, Political Science and International Relations E.I. Chernenkov.
The seminar is aimed at studying and comparative analysis of the role of local authorities and administrations, non-governmental organizations and universities in ensuring local welfare in modern conditions, using the example of twin cities.
At the first stage of the project implementation, classes on methodology and research methods were organized for the participants. On April 9, an introductory lesson on the method of document analysis as a method of obtaining primary data was conducted by the senior lecturer of the Department of Sociology and Social Work I.S. Petukhova.
The participants of the lesson discussed important issues of document analysis: features of the method, types of documents, content analysis, discourse analysis. Students received assignments that will help them prepare for the further stages of the project: in April – June, the project participants will have joint classes with students of the University of Tübingen. The teaching of these classes will be provided by both German and Russian lecturers.
At the same time, in the period from April to September, students are expected to work independently on cases with scientific advice from the teachers – participants of the project .
The final event of the project will be an international school with the participation of students from PetrSU and the University of Tübingen, within the framework of which the joint work of bilateral project teams and a public presentation of the project results are planned.
The form of organization of the school will depend on the epidemiological situation.
